ÖZ: Toplumsal değişme konusu sosyolojinin ortaya çıkış süreci ile birlikte onun temel konuları arasında yer almıştır. Sosyoloji Endüstri Devrimi, Fransız Devrimi, sekülerleşme, sınıfsal değişmeler ve çatışmalara bağlı süreçlerin yarattığı çok yönlü ve devasa değişimlerin sonucu olarak ortaya çıkmıştır. Yine bu süreçleri yorumlayarak öne çıkan sosyologlar birer değişme modeli ortaya koymuşlardır. Türkiye’de ise sosyologlar toplumsal değişme kavramını Batıcılaşma süreci içerisindeki gelişmeler kapsamında ele almış, değişme konusunun olumlu ve olumsuz yönlerini tüm boyutlarıyla tartışmışlardır. Toplumsal değişme konusu Batı sosyolojisinde “statü quo”cu bir anlayışla işlenirken, Türk sosyolojisinde modernleşme, ilerleme, uygarlaşma mitosu ekseninde, “devrimci” bir anlayış ve içerikle tartışılmıştır. Batı sosyolojisi kendi gelişimini tamamladığı düşüncesi içerisindeyken, Türk sosyolojisini gelişiminin devam ettiği inancındadır. Bu durum iki farklı görüşü ortaya çıkarmıştır. Bu iki farklı görüşün ne olduğunu anlamak önemlidir. Bu farklılıkların açıklanması gerekmektedir. Bu makale, değişme konusu bağlamında Batı sosyolojisine, Türkiye’nin Batıcılaşma etkisindeki yakın tarihine, Türk sosyologlarının konuyla ilgili tanım, tutum ve görüşlerine yer vermekte; çeşitli değerlendirme ve saptamalar yapmaktadır.
ABSTRACT: The subject of social change has been among the main topics of sociology since the emergence of sociology. Sociology emerged as a result of the multifaceted and gigantic changes created by the Industrial Revolution, the French Revolution, secularization, class changes, and conflict-related processes. Sociologists, who also came to the fore by interpreting these processes, put forward a model of change. In Turkey, on the other hand, sociologists have handled the concept of social change within the scope of developments in the westernization process, and have discussed the positive and negative aspects of change in all its dimensions. While the subject of social change was handled with the "status quo" approach in Western sociology, it was discussed with a "revolutionary" understanding and content in Turkish sociology, on the axis of the myth of modernization, progress, and civilization. While Western sociology thinks that it has completed its development, Turkish sociology believes that its development continues. This situation has given rise to two different views. It is important to understand what these two different views are. These differences need to be explained. This article includes Western sociology in the context of change, Turkey's recent history under the influence of Westernization, definitions, attitudes, and views of Turkish sociologists on the subject; makes various assessments and determinations.
