Bir doğu devrimcisi olan Baykan Sezer’in görüşleri Doğu-Batı çatışması üzerinedir. Dünya üzerindeki sorunları çözecek gücü olmayan Batı, üstünlüğünü Doğu üzerindeki egemenliğine ve sömürüsüne borçludur. Baykan Sezer Hoca’nın gönlünde yatan ise, Doğu ve Türkiye önderliğinde Batı lehine kurulu mevcut düzenin değişmesidir. Çünkü Batı’nın egemenlik seremonisi Doğu’yu ve Doğu’nun kaynaklarını sömürmek, egemenliği altına almak, kendine benzetmek şeklinde olmuştur. Baykan Hoca’nın Doğu-Batı düşünceleri akademik düzeyde ve sosyoloji disiplini altında sınırlı tutulmak istenmektedir. Çünkü Baykan Hoca’nın söylemleri yaygınlaşırsa, mevcut düzenden nemalanan ve korumak isteyenlerin fikirleri sarsılacak, keyifleri kaçacak ve sorgulanmaya başlayacaktır. Baykan Sezer düşüncelerini temellendirirken, akademik camiada farklılık oluşturmak amaçlı değil, mevcut olan dünya düzeninin ve egemenlik ilişkilerinin temelden değişmesini amaçlamıştır. Bu amacının arkasında ne Batı düşmanlığı yapmak, ne Batıyı yok saymak ne de muhafazakar biçimde içe kapanmak vardır.
