İnsanların hayatlarında bazı isimler özel bir yerdedir. Ben ve benim gibi pek çok seveninin gönlünde Baykan Sezer Hoca’nın o özel isimlerden olduğu kanaatindeyim. Onu özel kılan şeyin, Türk toplumunun özgüllüğü çerçevesinde sorunlara yaklaşarak, toplumumuzu tarihsel gerçekliğimiz ve kendi toplum çıkarlarımız etrafında açıklama çabası olduğunu düşünüyorum. Özellikle eleştirel bir bakış açısını iki ucu keskin bir kılıç gibi kullanması ve inançlarımızı tartışma konusu yapmamamız gerektiği konusundaki telkinlerinin bize kazandırdığı en güzel hasletlerden ikisi olarak hatıralarımda nakışlıdır. Bu çalışmada Baykan Sezer Hoca’nın bir talebesinin fikir dünyasına nasıl dokunduğunu, ona nasıl ilham verdiğini anlatmak istedim. İstedim ki, bizden sonra gelen kuşakların da Baykan Hocayı tanımaları, onun en büyük gayesinin yazdığı eserlerin Türk toplumuna ilham vermek olduğunu kavrayarak, tarihin şekillenmesinde üstlerine düşen görevleri başarıyla tamamlamalarıdır.
Some names occupy a special place in people's lives. I am of the opinion that Professor Baykan Sezer is one of those special names in the hearts of me and many of his students. I think that what makes him special is the effort to explain our society around our historical reality and our own social interests, by approaching the problems within the framework of the uniqueness of Turkish society. In particular, it is embroidered in my memories as two of the most beautiful traits brought to us by his suggestions that we should use a critical point of view like a double-edged sword and that we should not put our beliefs into discussion. In this study, I wanted to show how Professor Sezer touched the world of ideas of one of his students and inspired him. I wanted next generations to get to know Professor Sezer, realize that his greatest goal was to inspire Turkish society, and successfully complete their duties in shaping history.
