Kemal Tahir romanları muhtevaları gereği geniş bir tarihsel aralıkta yaşanan değişimleri ve dönüşümleri konu edilmeleriyle öne çıkarlar. Bu sebeple Sağırdere-Körduman gibi ikili ve Yediçınar Yaylası-Köyün Kamburu-Büyük Mal gibi üçlü zincir romanlarla uzun bir tarihsel aralıktaki bu yoğun muhteva inceleme konusu edilir. Böylece bir değişimin başlangıcı çok gerilere gider ve nasıl aşamalı bir şekilde meydana geldiği hakkında açıklama sunulur. Bu çalışmada Kemal Tahir’in köyü konu edinen Sağırdere ve Körduman romanlarından hareketle Kemal Tahir’in dönemin köy yapısının unsurlarını nasıl ele aldığı ve kentle olan münasebet sürecinde hangi alanlarda değişimin yaşandığı konu edilmektedir. Bu romanlarda köy toplumunun yapısal özellikleri verilirken o yapıyı oluşturan kurumların toplumsal değişme sürecinden nasıl etkilendikleri de irdelenmektedir. Dönemin köye dair politik bakma biçiminden bağımsız yaşanmayan bu süreci yarenlik töresinin bir arada tutma gücü üzerinden ele almak mümkündür. Başlangıçta köydeki dirlik ve düzeni temin etmede önemli bir fonksiyonu olan bu yapı giderek zayıflayacak bununla birlikte törenin birleştirici gücü de ortadan kalkacaktır. Toplumsal yapıdan, toplumsal çözülmeye doğru giden bir sürecin nasıl yaşandığı, buna etki eden faktörlerin neler oldukları, bu yapının çözülmesiyle hangi ilişkilerin açığa çıktığı bu iki roman üzerinden mevcut çalışmada yanıtı aranan sorulardan bir kaçıdır.
Kemal Tahir's novels also come to the forefront with their subject matter of changes and transformations in a wide historical range due to their content. For this reason, this intense content in a long historical interval is mostly analyzed in double chain novels such as "Sağırdere-Körduman" and triple chain novels such as "Yediçınar Yaylası-Köyün Kamburu-Büyük Mal". Thus, the beginning of a change goes far back, and an explanation is offered of how it gradually occurs. In this study, based on Kemal Tahir's novels Sağırdere and Körduman, which are about the village, it is discussed how Kemal Tahir handled the elements of the village structure of the period and in which areas changes are experienced in the process of interaction with the city. In these novels, while the structural characteristics of the village society are presented, it is also examined how the institutions that make up that structure are affected by the process of social change. It is possible to analyze this process, which is not independent from the political perspective of the period about the village, through the unifying power of the custom of companionship. This structure, which initially had an important function in ensuring the peace and order in the village, will gradually weaken and the unifying power of the custom will disappear. In the current study; how a process from social structure to social dissolution is experienced, what are the factors affecting it, and what relations are revealed by the dissolution of this structure are some of the questions sought to be answered through these two novels.
