Manuscript Submission Rules

  1. Manuscriptes rules are listed below, and the Word file is given as the article template, the upper and lower spaces, alignments, fonts, etc. specified for the article layout. The article must be adjusted on the template by downloading the relevant file. Click to download. 
  2. Manuscripts must be sent in the format specified below. Click to download the manuscript rules in PDF format.
    • Paper Size: A4 Vertical
    • All Margins (Top, Bottom, Right, Left): 2.5 cm
    • Font: Book Antiqua
    • Font Style: Normal
    • Size (Normal Text): 11 points
    • Size (Footnote Text): 10 points
    • Table-Graphic: 10 point
    • Paragraph Spacing (Normal Text): 0 pt First, 6 pt After
    • Paragraph Spacing (in Tables and Graphics): 6 pt before and after
    • Paragraph Spacing (In Headings): First 12 pt, Then 6 pt
    • Line Spacing: Single (1)
    • Paragraph indent: 0.5 cm from left
  3. The words number of the articles should be at least 3,000, excluding abstracts and bibliography. The articles should not exceed 20 pages in total, including the bibliography. The lower limit is valid for research articles, there is no lower limit for articles such as case reports, book reviews and review articles.
  4. In the direct quotations given in the text, if the quotation exceeds 4 lines, the footnote spelling rules are valid and the quotations should be narrowed by 1 cm from the left, 0.5 cm from the right, and should be given as 10 points, without tabs and without quotation marks.
  5. Details such as page numbers, additional headers and footers should not be included in the manuscripts. As a header, the author's name and the short name of the article should be filled on the right page, not exceeding two lines.
  6. Drawings, graphics, pictures and similar materials used in the manuscripts should be in JPEG or GIF format and attached to the main text. Despite the possibility of slipping, arrangements such as tables, figures, etc. within Word itself should not be used.
  7. For manuscripts that use a special font, the font used should also be submitted with the text.
  8. In terms of spelling and punctuation, the Turkish Language Association Spelling Guide should be taken as a basis, except for special cases necessitated by the article or subject.
  9. Footnote numbers should be used after punctuation marks in the text.
  10. The manuscript rules of the Diyanet Encyclopedia of Islam should be taken as basis for the names of Arabic studies and authors. The initials of each word of the titles of articles written in other foreign languages ​​and in Ottoman Turkish should be capitalized.
  1. The title of the article should be written in Book Antiqua font, 14 points, bold, centered, single-spaced, 0 pt before and after.
  2. The author's name should be written in Book Antiqua font, 11 font size, with two spaces after the main title and justified in bold, the first letter of the name should be capitalized, the other letters should be written in lower case, and the surname should be written in all capital letters. A superstar (*) should be given after the surname; The information about the author (Academic title, Institution information, ORCID ID, and E-mail address) should be written in Book Antiqua font, 9 points and 1 spacing, justified on both sides, in order to be seen only on the first page.
  3. Turkish/English Abstract, Turkish and English Keywords should be at least 200 words and should not exceed 300 words in total. It should be written normally with 9 points.
  4. The English title of the article should be written under the Turkish abstract and keywords, with 1 line space left, with the first letters in capital form, bold (Bold), 11 pt, centered, single-spaced, before and after with 6 nk paragraph spacing.
  5. The text of the article should be written in Book Antiqua, 11 font size, justified on both sides, line spacing should be single (1), paragraphs should start with an indent of 0.5 cm.
  6. Footnotes should be written with Book Antiqua and 10 points, justified on both sides, line spacing should be 1 and should be started with a space after the footnote. Paragraph spacing in footnotes should be 0 pt before and after.
  7. Examples of footnotes and bibliography are given below.
  8. On the last page of the study, “Ethics committee report”, “Contribution rate statement”, “Conflict statement”, “Support and acknowledgment” sections should be filled according to the explanations given in the article template.

 

FOOTNOTE AND REFERENCES DISPLAY

Classical subtext footnote system is used in Sosyologca. Articles should be prepared on the basis of "The Chicago Manual of Style" citation and reference system. Examples of citation formats from the system in question are given below. Authors can show footnotes and references in the specified format. In cases not specified below, the principles of the relevant citation and reference system are taken into account. Click for detailed information about the related system.
