Sosyoloji tarihinde başından beri yer almış ‘Sosyal Bilim’ Ekolü, her ne kadar ülkemizde ilk defa Prens Sabahaddin tarafından savunulmuş olsa da Cumhuriyet döneminde Mehmet Ali Şevki Bey’le birlikte ciddi bir itibar kazanmıştır. Ekol çerçevesinde ilk alana-dönük araştırmanın sahibi Şevki Bey, ekolün akademide temsilini de sağlamıştır. Bu çalışmada ‘Sosyal Bilim’ Ekolü'nün Mehmet Ali Şevki Bey ile gerçek kimliğini bulduğu tartışılacaktır.
The "Social Science" Ecole, which has taken place in the history of Turkish sociology from the very beginning, has gained a serious reputation with Mehmet Ali Şevki Bey during the Republic period, although it was defended by Prince Sabahaddin for the first time in our country. Şevki Bey, the owner of the first field-oriented research within the framework of Ecole, also provided the representation of the ecole in the academy. In this study, it will be argued that the Social Science Ecole has found its real identity with Mehmet Ali Şevki Bey.
