ÖZ: Kültür, insanın nasıl yaşayacağını belirleyen temel unsurdur. Günümüzde ise dünya çapına yayılmakta olan bir popüler kültür söz konusudur. Popüler kültür neredeyse tüm devletleri ve toplumları etkilemektedir fakat kendi içerisinde sorunları da bulunmaktadır. Popüler kültürün, herhangi bir toplumun kültürel mirasından ortaya çıkmaması ise bu kültürü temelsiz ve anlamsız kılmaktadır. Popüler kültürün tarihsel geçmişten yoksun olması toplumlar için sorun teşkil etmektedir. Her toplum kendi tarihsel mirasını barındırmaktadır. Toplumlar kendi kimliklerini tarihten almaktadır. Fakat popüler kültür, toplumlara tarihsiz bir kültür anlayışını sunmaktadır. Tarihsel zenginlikten ve derinlikten yoksun olan popüler kültür, toplumsal hayatımızı etkilemektedir. Yalnızca geçici ürünler ortaya koyarak toplumların hafızalarını ortadan kaldırmaktadır. Her yeni güne yeni bir popüler ürün sunarak toplumların onu hızlıca tüketmesini istemektedir. Kültürün tüketilebilir hale gelmesi ise toplumsal açısından önemli bir problemdir. Popüler kültürün hayatımızın her alanına temas etmesi bakımından genişliği çalışmayı zorlaştırmaktadır. Çözüm olarak ise popüler kültürü belirli alt başlıklarda incelemek gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmamızda da popüler kültürün, ekonomi, teknoloji, medya, moda ve beden alanlarından kısa eleştiriler sunulmuştur.
ABSTRACT: Culture is the basic element that determines how people live. Today, there is a popular culture that is spreading around the world. Popular culture affects almost all states and societies, but it also has its own problems. The fact that popular culture does not emerge from the cultural heritage of any society makes this culture baseless and meaningless. The lack of a historical past in popular culture poses a problem for societies. Every society has its own historical heritage. Societies derive their identities from history. But popular culture offers societies an understanding of culture without history. Popular culture, which lacks historical richness and depth, affects our social life. It removes the memories of societies by producing only temporary products. By presenting a new popular product every day, it wants societies to consume it quickly. Making culture consumable is an important social problem. The breadth of popular culture as it touches every aspect of our lives makes it difficult to work. As a solution, it is necessary to examine popular culture under certain sub-titles. In this study, short criticisms of popular culture, economy, technology, media, fashion and body are presented.
