Abstract

Bu çalışmada Baykan Sezer’in sosyolojide yönteme dair görüşleri incelenmektedir. Sezer’in yöntem anlayışında tarihsellik, “temel etken” kavramı ve “tarihsel-toplumsal değişme çizgisi” kavramları öne çıkmaktadır.

Abstract

In this study, Baykan Sezer's views on method in sociology were examined. As it is known, the method is among the main discussion topics of sociology. One of Turkey's leading sociologists, Sezer is a sociologist who is critical of the general acceptance of method. Examines and criticizes the generally accepted views about the method with some questions. Attaching importance to historicity and knowledge of social history as a method, Sezer states that every civilization and environment has different lines of historical-social change. The fact that different historical-society circles have different lines of social change also reveals that there may be different lines of social evolution in the world. Community events are multifaceted and complex. In this context, there is no single universal method in sociology. Accordingly, there are different understandings of method in sociology. In Sezer's understanding of method, the concepts of historicity, “basic factor” and “social-historical development line” come to the fore.
