Çeşitli dönemlerde varlığını sürdüren intihar, 21. yüzyılda yeni bir kimlikle ortaya çıkmıştır. İntihar hem tarihsel hem de toplumsal bir olaydır. Toplumsal koşullarda ve ilişkilerde meydana gelen değişimler, yeni intihar türlerinin ve düşüncelerinin ortaya çıkmasına neden olmuştur. İntihar, insanlık ve medeniyet için bir tehdit haline gelmiştir. İntihar denilince sosyolojide akla gelen ilk isim Emile Durkheim'dır. Bu nedenle intihar olayını Durkheim'ın intihar türleri ve yeni toplumsal ilişki ve sorunları değerlendirmesi çerçevesinde ele alacağız.
Suicide that continued its existence in various periods emerged with a new identity in 21th century. Suicide is both historical and social event. The changes in social conditions and relationships have led to the emergence of new types of suicide and thoughts. Suicide has become a threat to humanity and civilization. When we think of suicide, the first name that comes to mind in sociology is Emile Durkheim. Therefore, we will discuss the suicide incident within the framework of evaluation of Durkheim's suicide types and new social relations and problems.
