Otorite kavramı sosyoloji içerisinde oldukça önemlidir. İnsanlar toplum içerisinde yaşadıkça itaat etme güdüsü duymuşlardır. Bu itaat otoriteyi de beraberinde getirmiştir. Otorite kavramı gücü kabul edilmiş kimse olarak belirtilmiştir. İnsanlar neden bir başkasının gücünü kendi üzerlerinde kabul etme ihtiyacı hissetmiştir? Bu durum bir bağımlılık mıdır yoksa korkudan kaynaklanan bir durum mudur? Otoritenin zorla ve şiddetle bağı tam olarak nedir? Şiddetin ve baskının olduğu yerde otorite var mıdır yoksa bu durum otorite zayıflığından mı kaynaklanmaktadır? Otoriteyi toplum içerisinde meşru kılan şey nedir? The concept of authority is very important in sociology. As long as people lived in society, they felt the urge to obey. This obedience brought authority with it. The concept of authority is defined as a person whose power is accepted. Why did people feel the need to accept someone else's power over them? Is this an addiction or a state of fear? What exactly is the connection of authority with force and violence? Is there authority where there is violence and oppression, or is it due to weakness of authority? What makes authority legitimate in society? In this article, answers to these questions are sought. The importance of the concept of authority has been emphasized and care has been taken to explain this situation.
