Bu çalışmada Emile Durkheim’in İntihar adlı çalışması üzerinde durulacak ve bu çalışmadan yola çıkarak, Durkheim’in intihar konusundaki sosyolojik tespitleri analiz edilecektir. Özellikle metodolojik anlamda sosyal bilimlerde önemli bir yeri olan Durkheim’ın, İntihar çalışmasında izlediği metodu da dikkate alınacak ve sosyal bilimlerde yöntem anlayışı perspektifindeki intihar kavramı üzerinde durulacaktır. İntiharın sebepleri ile gerçekleşme pratikleri arasındaki ilişkinin Durkheim’e göre neler olduğu, Durkheim’in intihar kavramına dair genel düşünlerinin nasıl şekillendiği ve yine bu çalışmasında özellikle hangi noktalarda eksikliklerin görüldüğü sosyolojik bir eleştirel tutumla da dile getirilecektir.
In this study, Emile Durkheim's work called Suicide will be emphasized and based on this study, Durkheim's sociological findings on suicide subject will be analyzed. The method followed by Durkheim, which has an important place in social sciences especially in the methodological sense, will also be taken into consideration and suicide concept in the perspective of method undersanding in social sciences will be emphasized. What is the relationship between causes of suicide and the practices of realization according to Durkheim, how the general thoughts of Durkheim shaped about suicide concept and at which points the deficiencies have been seen in this study, will be expressed with a sociologically critical attitude.
