Bu makale, strateji kavramını Sümerlerden günümüze kadar farklı uygarlıklar ve düşünürler bağlamında tarihsel bir bakış açısıyla incelemektedir. Stratejik düşüncenin temel unsurları, büyük strateji (grand strategy) kavramı ve önemli kuramcılar ile uygulayıcı ustaların katkıları ele alınırken, farklı uygarlıkların savaş, diplomasi, ticaret ve yönetim alanlarındaki stratejik yaklaşımları örneklendirilmektedir. Makale, stratejinin evrensel bir insan etkinliği olduğunu ve uygarlıklar arası etkileşimle sürekli geliştiğini vurgularken, günümüz dünyasında stratejik düşüncenin önemine dikkat çekmektedir.
This article examines the concept of strategy from a historical perspective in the context of different civilizations and thinkers from the Sumerians to the present. The basic elements of strategic thought, the concept of grand strategy, and the contributions of important theorists and master practitioners are discussed, while the strategic approaches of different civilizations in the fields of war, diplomacy, trade and management are exemplified. The article emphasizes that strategy is a universal human activity and that it constantly develops with the interaction between civilizations, and draws attention to the importance of strategic thought in today's world.
